We hold that every kind of work in this country carries equal dignity, and that the people who do it should help lead it. Today they do not. This is the charter that puts the gap on the record and sets one deadline to close it: parity by 2045.

Latinos are one in five of the people who do the work of this country. Twenty percent of the workforce. In its highest paid professions, about six percent. We feed the country, build it, care for it, and move it, and we are still missing from the rooms where it is led.
Every kind of work here has dignity. The farmworker who feeds a nation and the physician who heals one are equals. The injustice is not the work we do. It is that the door to every other kind of work is harder for us to open, and that the country counts on our hands without counting us among the people who decide.
So we are building a house of our own. Not a charity. A membership. It is the only body that keeps the public record of where we stand in every industry, opens the doors that have been closed, and trains the people who will walk through them. We set one deadline: parity by 2045, measured honestly, field by field, and published for anyone to check.
To sign this charter is to put your name on that house now, at the beginning, when the building is hardest. You are not donating. You are joining. This is not a petition. It is a founding, and the people who sign it now are the ones the record will name as having set the standard.
